ENERGY, TRANSPORTATION and the ENVIRONMENT Cornell University The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Cornell University invites applicants for a tenure track faculty position in the general area of sustainability, energy and transportation systems. We seek candidates with strong modeling and analysis skills that apply to the planning, management or operation of sustainable engineered systems, with particular concern for energy, transportation, and environmental impacts. We are particularly interested in identifying outstanding candidates in either of two related areas: (1) energy/environmental systems engineering, and (2) sustainable transportation systems engineering. Applicants should have a strong technical background in optimization, uncertainty and risk analysis, probabilistic and simulation modeling, and the ability to link models of engineered systems to significant policy and economic analyses. Successful applicants will be expected to conduct a vigorous funded research program related to aspects of Energy, and Sustainable Economic Development, the specific programmatic focus of the Cornell Energy Institute and the Cornell Center for a Sustainable Future (CCSF) initiative.
