- Strong proficiency in manipulation and analysis of diverse datasets
- Strong proficiency in one or more statistical modeling tools: SAS, MATLAB, or similar
Education and/or Experience:
PhD (preferred) or Masters Degree in Econometrics/Statistics or related field. Four-plus years of experience in Revenue Management systems, including experience in demand forecasting, price optimization or predictive modeling. Programming experience in Java or other OO languages and experience in a linear programming environment required.
Job Description:
Summary:
The Director of Pricing Science designs, develops and tests economic and statistical models of consumer demand for use in operational pricing applications in the self storage industry. The incumbent carries a solid analytical and quantitative background, as well as, programming and statistical expertise. This position works closely with other revenue team members, senior executives and division heads to help develop pricing models and strategies within the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Develop and manage the Revenue Management System (RMS), which includes defining RMS strategies, tools and processes.
- Lead the development of demand forecasting and pricing optimization initiatives within the organization.
- Work with revenue management, operations and marketing teams in understanding pricing requirements.
- Design new models and methodologies for forecasting demand in a multi-channel environment.
- Develop and test prototypes of pricing tools that provide the initial framework for enterprise pricing solutions.
- Responsible for documenting and testing validity of assumptions.
- Supports the operations and revenue management teams in troubleshooting of econometric modeling issues.
