Simulation Engineer

The GoldSim Technology Group (www.goldsim.com) is a privately held software company dedicated to developing software and providing services to help people understand complex systems and make better decisions. As a junior member of our technical staff, you will provide email and phone support to our software users, and carry out testing and documentation tasks for our state-of-the-art modeling and simulation framework. Our software is used to simulate the behavior of complex systems in business, engineering and science. With users in over 30 countries, and diverse applications ranging from simulating space missions to evaluating business risks, you will have an opportunity to immediately contribute to a product that is being used to solve interesting and complex problems worldwide.

Responsibilities
You will be expected to be versatile and participate in a wide variety of activities, including technical support, consulting, testing, documentation and technical sales. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical support and consulting services.
  • Testing and documenting new software versions.
  • Providing technical sales support (including web-based software demos) to potential customers.
  • Actively participating in software design discussions.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in science, engineering, applied mathematics, or a closely related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in simulation modeling (coursework, research, or consulting).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • A history of pro-active and detail-oriented performance.
  • Ability to take on varied tasks in unfamiliar areas and provide results in a timely manner.
  • Legal working status in the United States.

Plusses

  • Knowledge of Monte Carlo methods and statistical data analysis.
  • Specific experience in sytems engineering, risk analysis, reliability engineering or water resources.
