Operations Research Analyst
(Contractor Position in Atlanta, Georgia)
You will work with other operations research analysts and developers on projects that involve modeling and software design and development.
Preferred Background and Skills
- A graduate degree (Ph.D. preferred) in industrial engineering, operations research, or a related engineering and management discipline from an accredited University in the US
- Strong analytical abilities and problem solving skills
- Strong knowledge of operations research techniques and experience in formulating and implementing optimization models
- Familiarity with a commercial optimization solver, e.g. CPLEX
- Experience with developing heuristics for complex operational and management problems
- Ability to work in UNIX or LINUX platforms and proficiency in C++ programming language are required
- Experience with SQL and relational databases
- Ability to communicate effectively through oral presentations and written reports
- Good interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of software development methodology is a plus
- Candidates with experience in transportation industry are preferred.
This position is offered on a contract basis in Atlanta, Georgia. The initial contract is one year and renewable. Rate is commensurate with education and work experience.
