Purdue University is seeking nominations and letters of interest for the position of Head of the School of Industrial Engineering. The Head must qualify for an appointment at the full professor level with tenure and possibly to a named professorship, have a distinguished academic or industrial record, demonstrate strong leadership and collaborative skills, and possess the vision and qualities to further advance the School's nationally-ranked program through a continuing commitment to excel in discovery, learning and engagement. Candidates should have a clear understanding of the current needs and future direction of the industrial engineering profession, possess a commitment to diversity and collaboration, and be skilled in administration, student relations, mentoring and alumni development.

The School of Industrial Engineering at Purdue University consistently has been ranked as one of the top schools of industrial engineering in the nation. The School currently has 450 undergraduate students, 175 graduate students and 22 faculty, and is adding at least 7 tenure-track faculty (including 2 named professorships). The School's funding exceeds $6 million annually, and its teaching and research activities cover a broad range of topics including engineering economics, human factors, manufacturing engineering, production and service systems, and operations research.

The College of Engineering at Purdue consists of over 6,000 undergraduate students, 2,400 graduate students and 320 faculty. Purdue is one of the nation's leading land-grant universities with a full range of academic majors and an enrollment of over 39,000 students.
