Business Statistics and Operations Analysis Faculty Position #9913

The University of Southern Maine's School of Business invites applications for a one year, fixed length position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Business Statistics and Operations Analysis. The post will be for a fixed duration of one year to begin September 2010. The primary teaching responsibility for this position is for undergraduate and graduate courses in business statistics, with a secondary focus in operations management and management science. The School of Business values collegial individuals who are excellent communicators, innovative teachers, and active scholars in applied research. The School works closely with the business community, which provides research and professional opportunities. The teaching load is three courses per semester, six courses per year. Other responsibilities include service, partnering with the business community, student advising, and internship supervision.

Requirements include: (1) Ph.D. or attainment of Ph.D. status prior to August, 2010 in Operations Management, Management Science, or closely related field, (2) evidence of effective teaching in Business Statistics and one or more of the following areas: Operations Management and Management Science, and (3) evidence of potential for scholarly research and publication. Candidates who have successfully defended their Ph.D. dissertation will be given preference.

The USM School of Business is located in scenic Portland, Maine, and is accredited by AACSB International. The School's mission emphasizes partnership with the business community, which is a key feature of the School.
