Suresh Sethi was elected an IEEE Fellow at the IEEE Board of Directors meeting in November. Sethi was honored for his "contributions to control and optimization of management and economic systems." The IEEE grade of Fellow is conferred upon a person with an extraordinary record of accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest. The total number of IEEE Fellows elected in any one year is limited to one-tenth percent of the total voting IEEE membership.

Chung-Yee Lee joined the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (HKUST) as Department Head of Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management (IEEM) on Aug. 2. He was Rockwell Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Texas A&M University from 1996-2001. The IEEM Department at HKUST offers strong programs in manufacturing engineering and logistics and supply chain management. "We wish to establish collaboration with institutions on joint research projects and student exchange programs," Lee says.
