OR/MS Today Call for Papers Posted: 6/10/08 Special Issue of IJOQM on Improving Productivity Through Effective Scheduling Today's business environment is getting highly competitive. Schedulers, planners and production managers in organizations make frequent decisions regarding scheduling. In today's challenging business setting, these decisions could drastically affect the company's bottom line. In some cases, making effective decisions in scheduling may mean successful continuation of the business. However, making wrong decisions could result in very poor financial conditions, ultimately becoming disastrous for the company. Can these decisions be made more effectively or efficiently? This special issue of IJOQM is dedicated to investigating how to make scheduling to become more competitive in today's highly competitive business environment. All papers involving basic, applied, theoretical and case study research in the field of scheduling are invited. The potential topics include, but not limited to:
