New Version of GoldSim Targets User's Requests

GoldSim Technology Group has released Version 9 of GoldSim, a probabilistic simulation package that supports continuous, discrete and hybrid modeling. This latest version incorporates a number of new features specifically requested by users, including global optimization and advanced sensitivity analysis.

Other new features in Version 9 include enhanced integration with Microsoft Excel and dynamic adaptive timestepping. The latter feature enables different portions of a model to have different timesteps that can dynamically adapt as model variables change.

"GoldSim is particularly well-suited for quantitatively representing the uncertainty inherent in all complex systems. This allows our customers to gain a much better understanding of the range and likelihoods of outcomes for the alternative plans and policies they are considering," says company President Ian Miller. "As a result, GoldSim is used in a variety of industries where uncertainty plays a key role, including mining, water resources, energy and insurance."

GoldSim software is used by government organizations worldwide to support strategic planning and policy-making with regard to complex environmental problems. The software is also used by private organizations in many different industries, ranging from insurance to manufacturing to health care. The GoldSim Technology Group recently won a NASA SBIR grant to apply the software to mission risk and reliability analysis, and it will be releasing a new module to support risk and reliability analysis for complex engineered systems later this year.
