AIMMS 3.6 Offers Enhanced Functionality

With the new release of AIMMS 3.6 in October, Paragon Decision Technology has added functionality that both enhances the ease of use by developers and end-users, and increases the ability to solve complex problems through highly advanced decomposition techniques and the provision of new solver interfaces.

The pivot table is a new and flexible GUI object that allows selections of one or more identifiers to be displayed in tabular format. The selection of identifiers to be shown in the pivot table can be determined either by the developer at the design stage or by the end-user at run time from a developer-specified subset of all model identifiers.

The GMP library now offers additional callback functions during the MIP phase, the capacity to solve GMPs recursively, and applying the GMP library to NLP problems. AIMMS is extended in Version 3.6 with the NLP solver LGO, and new versions of XA and BARON, and allows parallel solving using CPLEX.

The AIMMS agent technology has been extended to allow AIMMS procedures to be called through a Web service. AIMMS 3.6 supports the automatic generation of WSDL files for the procedures that can be called for a specific agent role, and provides handlers to pass incoming Web service requests on to one or more AIMMS sessions.
