Historic Lecture

Judith S. Liebman will deliver the Omega Rho Distinguished Lecture at the Atlanta INFORMS meeting Oct. 19. She will speak on the topic of "Teaching for Learning: Past, Present and Future." She will discuss instructional approaches particularly useful for teaching operations research and management science

Liebman's delivery will help celebrate the 25th Omega Rho distinguished lecture. She will be the first woman to preside over the Omega Rho distinguished lecture lectern.

Liebman is professor emerita of Operations Research, Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In her distinguished career, she has applied operations research in engineering optimization, health systems, military and civil infrastructure investment. In recent years, she conducted studies directed towards improving engineering education.
