OR/MS Today INFORMS News Posted: 12/18/06 Nicholson Student Paper Competition Joshua E. Reed won the George E. Nicholson Student Paper Competition, which honors outstanding papers in the field of operations research and the management sciences written by a student. Reed won for the paper, " The G/GI/N Queue in the Halfin-Whitt Regime," written while he was a Ph.D. student at the Georgia Institute of Technology. His advisors were Amy Ward and Jim Dai. Rakesh Vohra, committee chair, made the presentation at the INFORMS fall meeting in Pittsburgh. Finalists included Mustafa Akan, Alexandre Belloni, Kiavash Kianfar, Hamed Mamani and Stephen Shum.
