Computers & Operations Research (C&OR) Special Issue


C&OR will publish a special issue dedicated to the topic of "Computers & Operations Research in Emerging Economies" in 1999. Computer and OR researchers will have the opportunity to share ideas and work in this special issue to find ways to enhance industry and business operations in the context of emerging economies, especially in high-tech, manufacturing, service industries and the public sector.

EJOR Focused Issue


EJOR will publish a focus issue dedicated to the topic of "Management Science/Operations Management in China" in 1999. The theme of the issue reflects the contributions made by management science and operations management to China's rapidly growing economy. MS/OM researchers and practitioners will have the opportunity to share ideas and work in this focused issue to find ways to enhance industry operations in China, especially in high-tech, manufacturing and service industries.

Business Education Review, Business Education Sharenet


Papers are invited for two new refereed journals on management of business that will complement each other: Business Education Review, a printed journal, and Business Education Sharenet, an electronic journal, co-sponsored by business schools at Columbia, Harvard, MIT, Northwester, AT&T, Honeywell, Baxter, Proctor & Gamble and Thermo Electron.

The two journals will address all issues related to managing business education, including curriculum development, teaching, pedagogy, distance learning, attracting quality students, executive development programs, faculty development, collaboration between traditional and corporate universities and relevance of research to the business community.

21st ITI Conference


The 21st International Conference on Information Technology Interfaces (ITI) '99 will take place on June 15-18, 1999, in Pula, Croatia. This year's conference will focus on researchers in computer science, information systems, operations research and statistics.

Topics to be covered at the conference will include: artificial intelligence and expert systems, biometrics, computer systems and networks, data analysis and statistics, information systems and databases, mathematics and computation, multimedia, and software engineering.

Authors who wish to present a paper at the conference should submit three copies of a paper related to any of the topics. Invited papers, and original contributed papers reviewed and accepted by two referees, will be published in the Conference Proceedings.

A camera-ready copy of the full paper (prepared according to the Instructions to Authors) must be submitted no later than March 10, 1999.

International Conference on Industrial Logistics


ICIL '99, the International Conference on Industrial Logistics, will take place June 28-July 1, 1999 in St. Petersburg, Russia. Conference proceedings are reviewed by an editing board and published by well-known universities or a publisher. Topics include: product support themes, production support themes and industrial sector support topics such as transportation policy, industrial and technological parks, large investment projects and foreign investment.
