![]() December 1998 Adelman Takes Home Dantzig Dan Adelman was this year's recipient of the George B. Dantzig Dissertation Award presented at the Fall INFORMS Meeting in Seattle. Isak Duenyas, chair of the Award Committee, presented Adelman with the award for his paper, "Remnant Inventory Systems." The Dantzig Dissertation Award is given for the best OR/MS dissertation that promotes greater interaction between academia and industry. Second place went to Yunzeng Wang for his paper, "Service Part Logistics: Modeling, Analysis, and Application." An honorable mention went to Steven Baker for his paper, "A Cascade Approach for Staircase Linear Programs with an Application to Air Force Mobility Optimization."
