Posted January 30, 2002 Manufacturing News SAP Portals and Compaq Announce Alliance to Deliver Enterprise Portal Solution SAP Portals, Inc. (San Jose, Calif.; www.sapportals.com), and Compaq Computer Corp. (Houston; www.compaq.com) announced a strategic alliance to jointly market SAP Portals solutions and Compaq technology. The two companies joined forces to deliver a fully integrated end-to-end portals solution. Under terms of the alliance, Compaq will establish global solution centers to support joint strategic business development and sales activities. These solution centers will feature demonstration systems of SAP Portals solutions that will run across Compaq hardware platforms combined with a full set of infrastructure services, enabling customers to expand without down time. The first joint solution center will be established in Walldorf, Germany. The agreement extends Compaq's relationship as an SAP server, platform partner and storage vendors, with over 15,000 installations.
