McHugh to Embed Advanced ILOG Optimization Components into Enterprise Transportation Management System

ILOG (www.ilog.com) has announced that McHugh Software International (Waukesha, Wis.; www.mchugh.com) has selected ILOG optimization components for its TRACS* enterprise transportation planning and management system.
The TRACS*Assign module — the first in the TRACS* family of products to embed ILOG components — will perform quicker problem-solving for the largest customers, even those with complex transportation scenarios. This is the first collaboration between ILOG, a supplier of software components, and McHugh, a vendor in the logistics software industry.
McHugh's TRACS*Assign is a key module that removes the manual labor and guesswork from allocating equipment and assigning the best carriers to loads. It is aimed at companies that manage high volumes of truckload shipments, work with many carriers, and potentially have dedicated business contracts with carriers by lane, equipment, and/or service.
The ILOG optimization components will help TRACS*Assign to offer an even more streamlined, automated approach to customers that saves them time and money and ensures daily compliance with dedicated freight contracts. Cutting-edge optimization enhances the product's ability to dynamically consider continuous move opportunities as a part of the carrier assignment process, thus reducing empty miles for private fleets or reducing common carriers' "cost to serve."
