Week of May 24, 1999 Manufacturing News First Union Licenses Sterling's COMMERCE:Advantage Sterling Commerce (Dublin, Ohio; www.sterlingcommerce.com), a provider of electronic commerce software, has announced that First Union Corporation (Charlotte, N.C.; www.firstunion.com) has licensed COMMERCE:Advantage, an electronic commerce payments and processing software. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. COMMERCE:Advantage enables banks to offer expanded payments outsourcing services, real-time wire transfers, enhanced international capabilities and non-financial EC services. COMMERCE:Advantage processes large payment files concurrently to improve payment outsourcing throughput and productivity.
