Oberon Software Inc. (Cambridge, Mass.; www.oberon.com), a provider of enterprise application integration (EAI) solutions for assembling cross-application functions and business logic, and Active Software Inc. (Santa Clara, Calif.; www.activesw.com), a supplier of network-based EAI products for exchanging information between applications, have announced a partnership aimed at focusing their businesses and simplifying the application integration selection process.

Under the terms of the agreement, Oberon will develop, deliver, and support Prospero Building Blocks for Active Software's ActiveWorks Integration System. Customers will now be able to use the ActiveWorks platform for the distribution and management of information, and Oberon Prospero for better control over the creation and maintenance of their integrated solutions. In addition, the two corporations have agreed to pursue joint sales opportunities.
