QAD (Carpinteria, Calif.; www.qad.com), developer of supply chain-enabled enterprise software, announced that Rheem (Far East) Pte Ltd (Singapore) has completed a rapid four-month implementation of QAD's flagship MFG/PRO software to support the company's manufacturing operation in Singapore. Rheem simultaneously embarked on the installation of QAD software and staff training in October 1998. By January 1999, the implementation was completed and the system went live soon after. The solution integrates Rheem's key manufacturing, distribution and financial functions. Operating on an HP 9000 D220 UNIX server, the QAD system is used in all the major areas of Rheem's operations — including purchasing, inventory control, production planning, sales orders and invoicing.
