Oracle Advanced Planning and Scheduling makes strides in APS market

Software provider Oracle Corp. (www.oracle.com) recently announced that in its first quarter of release the Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) solution has been purchased by 50 corporations around the globe, including Alcoa, Cummins Engines, EchoStar Communications, GE Aircraft Engines, Ford Motor Company, Hitachi Data Systems, Odwalla, TRACO, and UPS. The solution will enable these manufacturing and distribution customers to improve demand forecasting and optimize all resources across the supply chain.
Implementing Oracle Advanced Planning and Scheduling will provide large and medium-sized enterprises with the functionality necessary to synchronize supply chain planning and optimize demand planning and delivery schedules. The APS helps keep production plans updated in real-time, allowing organizations to remain agile and responsive to the fast-moving Internet market.
Oracle's Advanced Planning and Scheduling enables companies to turn their suppliers and customers into strategic partners by sharing critical information such as demand forecasts, material and capacity availability and production schedules globally and in real time, using only an Internet browser. Oracle's APS solution can be implemented by existing e-business suite customers in as little as one day. As part of Oracle's E-Business Suite, Advanced Planning and enables collaborative supply chain optimization.
