JBA Forms Alliance With American Software

JBA International (Rolling Meadows, Ill.; www.jbaworld.com), a supplier of ERP software, has formed a strategic alliance with American Software (Atlanta, Ga.; www.amsoftware.com), a provider of Flow Manufacturing technology. With the agreement, American Software's Flow Manufacturing product becomes the preferred solution for JBA's System 21 AS/400 customers.
Flow Manufacturing is a demand-driven practice based on the Japanese principles of "pulling" materials through production based on actual customer demand, rather than "pushing" them through based on a pre-set schedule. The hope is that an ERP-integrated Flow Manufacturing solution will result in reduced inventory costs and production cycle times, improved equipment capacity, lowered manufacturing lead time and boosted labor productivity.
