Fiskars chooses J.D. Edwards OneWorld Xe for functionality and flexibilty

J.D. Edwards & Company (Denver; www.jdedwards.com) announced that Fiskars Consumer Products, Inc. (Madison, Wisc.; www.fiskars.com), a global manufacturer and marketer of value-added branded consumer products, will implement J.D. Edwards OneWorld Xe across its North American-based divisions, making J.D. Edwards the standard at the majority of the company's worldwide operations.
The multi-million dollar deal includes the installation of OneWorld Xe at 12 Fiskars locations across eight company divisions in the United States. Fiskar's international business units in Canada, Mexico and Australia independently implemented J.D. Edwards OneWorld in 2000.
OneWorld Xe will replace eight separate legacy systems used by the Fiskars divisions. Through the implementation Fiskars will have a company-wide view of essential data and information, and the ability to quickly integrate the data of any company acquired in the future.
Fiskars also evaluated SAP's enterprise software, but chose OneWorld Xe because the solution provided the functionality the company was looking for with less complexity and lower Total Cost of Ownership.
