SF2K Deploys MES System For Boeing

The SF2K division of TSI (Lake Forest, Calif.; www.sf2k.com), a provider of integrated manufacturing execution systems (MES), has signed an agreement with airplane manufacturer The Boeing Co. (Seattle, Wash.; www.boeing.com) to provide Shopfloor 2000 software, integration services and training support for Boeing's diverse manufacturing, assembly and maintenance factory floor operations.
SF2K will assign certain software licenses for its Shopfloor 2000 system; supply manufacturing systems development services including consulting, training and maintenance; and assist with the master plan for enterprise resource planning (ERP) to be introduced at Boeing facilities in California, Texas and Ohio.
The Shopfloor 2000 system selected for this new installation has helped eliminate over 14,000 paper documents in the production of the C-17 cargo airfleet at Boeing. The goal of the new manufacturing system, termed Vision 2000 by Boeing, is to shorten work cycles, improve process and parts tracking, and deliver higher quality, more affordable aircraft and space vehicles across all aerospace programs.
