Sequencia announces just-in-time material management

Sequencia Corporation (www.sequencia.com), a supplier of responsive manufacturing and product collaboration solutions for the process industries, recently announced the forthcoming availability of a new software for plant-level material management and tracking. Sequencia mTrack , which can be tied to corporate management systems, is the newest component of Sequencia's Responsive Process Manufacturing Series (rpmSeries), a suite of products providing product change management and execution solutions across the enterprise.
Managing materials as they move through manufacturing facilities is critical to quality operations and regulatory compliance. Sequencia mTrack provides the process industry with full just-in-time material management for batch execution systems. Materials and routes are directedIt across production cells and full forward and reverse material traceability and genealogyare provided. Sequencia mTrack also reduces the number of recipes, and eliminates the control system code normally required for flexible material storage.
Dennis Brandl, Director of Enterprise Initiatives, says, "mTrack is another key ingredient in the Sequencia rpmSeries. As a critical add-on to oBatch(tm) and eProcedure(tm), mTrack adds the level of detailnecessary for full material traceability in regulated industries. In addition, mTrack provides the single point of real-time information for connectivity to corporate inventory management systems. It follows the ISA S95 standards for material information and provides standard data interfaces for plant-wide material and tank farm management."
mTrack works seamlessly with Sequencia oBatch and eProcedure. MTrack manages and tracks the use of materials by material type, lot and sub-lot. It manages and tracks vessels, containers and pallets, as well as permanent and transient storage. It also provides automatic support for bulk containers with multiple lots either as composites or plug flow separated.
mTrack extends recipes with material definitions, reducing the number of recipes needed for flexible storage facilities. The software automatically logs material consumption, production and association of materials data, providing complete information for forward within and across process cells.
mTrack includes a run time component that automatically directs recipe material commands to the equipment required to charge or discharge the material. Normally, this code must be PLCs, DCS, or PC control systems. mTrack eliminates user coding, moving the equipment redirect logic into the batch server.
mTrack will be available in Fall 2000.
