Posted December 19, 2001 New Products CAPS Announces Collaborative Dispatch CAPS Logistics, Inc. (Atlanta; www.caps.com), a unit of the Invensys Software Systems division of Invensys (London; www.invensys.com), announced the release of Collaborative Dispatch, a strategic component of the CAPS' MOMENTUM solution for integrated logistics planning. Collaborative Dispatch enables a multi-user vehicle routing and scheduling environment, providing visibility between dispatchers and allowing plans to be optimized across geographic boundaries. The solution also enables asset tracking and status updates for making adjustments to the plan while in execution. Collaborative Dispatch combines the powerful routing functionality of RoutePro with a central database. The solution runs on Oracle's multi-platform database technology and can be implemented using thin client technology. The solution takes advantage of CAPS Logistics' proprietary in-RAM database technology for computationally intensive and complex routing decisions. MOMENTUM helps clients rationalize their logistics assets by allowing them to design, implement and operate supply chains. The user can set and implement advanced distribution and inventory strategies, select carriers and transportation modes, choose between private fleet and for-hire routing assignments, as well as determine cost effective customer satisfaction level requirements.
