Week of January 12, 1998 New Products REFLEX REFLEX 6.0 includes a real-time order processing module that provides a form-based user interface for the definition of new orders. It allows complex, multiple order line items to be organized into projects and sub-projects. It also coordinates the work of multiple planners across the entire enterprise, so that each user has access to consistent data. The REFLEX Planner module provides a resource requirements planning capability that identifies capacity shortages and excesses so that the planner can take appropriate actions; for example, resolving a capacity shortage by adding another shift. The new finite resource planning capability enhances this process by treating capacity at designated work centers as a finite constraint. It then uses a priority sequence to allocate capacity to each demand and level loads constrained work centers using a bi-directional scheduling technique. The result is an optimized and capacity-feasible plan.
