Week of January 12, 1998 New Products SIMPLE++ SIMPLE++ software provides an on-screen model of an entire factory. It enables engineers to design complete plants, simulate and optimize their operations and identify potential bottlenecks. SIMPLE++ is an important component of Tecnomatix' Digital Factory offering to create a single integrated computer model of a complete manufacturing plant which is scaleable from the level of the factory down to the individual production operation. The product recently became part of Tecnomatix's computer-aided production engineering (CAPE) product line when the company acquired AESOP, a privately-held German company, last fall. Plans to integrate SIMPLE++ with Tecnomatix's products to enable flows of data between plant, line and cell levels have been finalized and initial releases are expected by mid-1998.
