(Atlanta, Ga.; www.caps.com ) has introduced a Web-enabled version of its RoutePro routing and scheduling system, offering Internet-based management and in-transit visibility of product shipments, vehicles, and associated routes and schedules. A large routing and scheduling situation involves trucks visiting many different locations, and with RoutePro, each site can have instant access to shipment and product status -- including arrival/unloading schedules -- and verify important delivery information, such as facility time windows, driving directions, dock information, etc. When combined with a mobile communications and vehicle positioning system, RoutePro can provide up-to-the-minute monitoring of orders and assets. The CAPS TransPro transportation planning product will also utilize the RoutePro Web technology. TransPro optimizes decisions involving the movement of freight through a supply chain and is seamlessly integrated with a commercial vehicle routing and scheduling system.
