June 2, 1998 New Products NC Verify NC Verify 5.0, part of the Virtual Manufacturing Suite from Sirius Systems Corp. (San Jose, Calif.; www.siriussys.com), includes a true solid modeler for manufacturing applications. TrueSolid technology includes the ability to dynamically zoom and rotate a part during simulation, thereby eliminating any view restrictions for the user. Complete surface data of the machined part is also available and can be output to standard CAD formats. TrueSolid can enhance several important capabilities, including: NC verification; managing the work-in-process solid shape; rest area machining to find leftover areas on the stock; and NC optimization, which adjusts the feeds and speeds by determining information about machining volume.
