Process Composer

Promis Systems Corp. (Toronto, Ont., Canada; www.promis.com) has introduced Process Composer 2.0, a Windows NT-based, event-driven, application software for process and device engineers. Process Composer is a comprehensive modeling tool that allows engineers to create, edit and view factory configurations and process specifications.
As part of a complete manufacturing execution and automation solution, Process Composer is built on the concept of "closing the loop" between production and process engineering. It is designed to provide rapid improvement in process design and process flows by delivering collected MES data for analysis, interpretation and modification.
Version 2.0 provides off-the-shelf integration with Promis Standard System as well as other systems by using templates to help model manufacturing elements. In addition to basic manufacturing templates, over 100 Promis specific templates are provided. This feature allows interaction with Promis software out of the box.
Process Composer 2.0 enables full editing of Promis software recipes, operations, tables and parameters for quick reaction changes and updates to manufacturing process data. It also includes new text flow views of process plans, giving process engineers more information that is critical to manage their activity. Users can integrate with external systems through implementation of a scripting engine combined with a fully exposed API.
