Week of July 13, 1998 New Products VC Smart Cameras Vision Components (Cambridge, Mass.; www.vision-components.de) has launched the VC series of industrial smart cameras for common factory automation applications. Specific applications include non-contact gauging/dimensional characterization, part orientation/determination, object recognition, label inspection, and assembly verification. These machine vision systems include up to 8 megabytes of RAM, 2 megabytes of Flash EPROM and a digital signal processor. Vision Components offers an integrated Windows-based development environment which includes a C cross-compiler, a real-time operating system, and a large optimized image processing library.
