Week of August 10, 1998 New Products Citect for Windows Citect for Windows 5.1 automation software from Ci Technologies (Charlotte, N.C.; www.citect.com) now includes OPC Server (OLE for Process Control) functionality, making it possible for third-party applications to interface directly with Citect using the Custom Interface. An enhanced API allows attaching up to 32 clients at one time. Citect project backup files are now PKZip compatible. An entire Citect SCADA system can be backed up (or restored) to disk with a few mouse clicks. Also, over a dozen communication protocols have been added to the 130_ device drivers included in the Citect package. Citect process monitoring and control software offers the system design a combination of scalable architecture, DCS-style redundancy and built-in I/O communications.
