(San Diego, Calif.; www.dataworks.com) is an ERP solution that includes new customer service, field service and help desk modules; real-time advanced planning and scheduling; wireless terminal and barcode-based execution systems (MES); as well as 15 other enhancements. The new release also includes a technology foundation that will lead to new Microsoft-based extensions in the next release. These extensions include new object-oriented tools for Web enhancement, SQL-Server based data warehousing capabilities, as well as a fully compliant COM+ interface to DataWorks' GUI. This COM+ interface allows users to integrate any Avante form or process directly with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Projects or any other COM+ compliant software application.
