Week of January 8, 1999 New Products MISys/2000 The MISys/2000 version 3.1A from Manufacturing Information Systems (Woodstock, Vt.; www.misysinc.com) allows the addition of shop floor control functionality to the Windows-based MRP system. Shop Floor Control, called Level 3, is the third core module of the system. Levels 1 & 2 offer inventory control capabilities, multi-level bills of material, integrated purchasing, manufacturing orders, master production scheduling, and material requirements planning (MRP). Add-on options include a bar-coding system and an electronic commerce link. The new MISys/2000 Shop Floor Control functionality is aimed at small- to mid-sized manufacturers who need the ability to maintain their work centers and tools on the shop floor, create bill of material routings, and track all of their shop operations.
