Week of June 28, 1999 New Products FabPlan is Expanded The newest version of FabPlan, a computer-aided estimating system for fabricators, is now available from Micro Estimating Systems (New Berlin, Wis.; www.microcest.com) and its international distribution network. The upgrade features an expanded bill of material (BOM) capability, eight additional fabrication workcenters, and nesting functions. The release also includes upgraded machine tools capabilities and labor scrap values for each operation of a job. New fabrication workcenters include: single station punch, coil punch, and hand-operated process machines such as hand shears, notching, piercing, straightening and riveting. Fabrication workcenters can be added to existing FabPlan systems in any combination, and also can be purchased as part of Micro Estimating's Machine Shop Estimating system.
