Week of June 28, 1999 New Products TRW Releases MARC ConfiguratorPlus TRW's Logistics Execution Solutions (LES) (http://www.trw.com/systems_it/supplychain/) unit has released MARC ConfiguratorPlus. A decision support and project management tool, ConfiguratorPlus offers customers the ability to easily configure and install MARC WMS products meeting the industry's rapid implementation requirements. ConfiguratorPlus provides decision tree analysis to allow customers to configure the MARC system to meet their specific needs. Responses to the requirements questionnaire automatically update the appropriate tables and parameters and provide the client with recommendations for configuring MARC. Topics covered include receiving, order processing, picking, packing/weighing, put-away and shipping. ConfiguratorPlus links directly to Microsoft Project and allows the project manager to plan and track the progress while managing different stages of the implementation and its major milestones. The product tracks, documents and catalogs customer specific SQL reports and provides mapping of interfaces between host systems and the MARC WMS. Written in Visual Basic, MARC ConfiguratorPlus is designed with a point-and-click interface. The product operates on Microsoft Windows 95 or 98-based personal computers and includes a Microsoft Access database which can be migrated to a SQL server.
